8 Knitwear Trends Our #NewLookers Are Nailing

But, as fashion fans and certified members of the cosy club (blame our lockdown love affair with loungewear), getting to bring out the knitwear again easily tops the list.

From dressing up in monochrome to channelling the Upper East Side, our #New Lookers have this season’s knitwear trends nailed. Consider your autumn attire sorted…

While we love a classic plaid check for autumn, dogtooth check is stealing the spotlight this season. Not only does it give us the chance to tap into the monochrome trend, but the statement print adds interest to even the simplest of get-ups. Georgia got the memo, teaming a dogtooth knit with leather-look shorts and biker boots for an autumn outfit that’s big on cool. Add a black cross-body and you’re ready for wherever the day takes you.

Nothing says autumn quite like berry tones – actually, nothing says autumn quite like dressing in head-to-toe berry tones. Look to Shanuja and take the tonal trend for a spin, pairing a burgundy knit midi dress with coordinating boots and accessories. Neutrals never go out of style, as proven by #NewLooker Lauren, who sports a brown cable-knit (which she calls ‘soooo soft’, FYI) with a complementary shoulder bag. With the new Gossip Girl reboot, it’s no surprise preppy dressing has been hot on the fashion radar this year. Make like Ella and give the trend an autumn update by layering a sweater vest over an oversized white shirt. While we often associate knitwear with not-so-flattering slouchy silhouettes, Jasmine proves that doesn’t have to be the case, heading out in a bodycon knitted midi from our Mahalia Loves edit. She contrasts the neutral piece with black stomping boots and a black 90s shoulder bag, creating the perfect desk-to-dinner-to-drinks-and-beyond look.

On particularly chilly days, there’s no better saving grace than a cosy roll neck. Candice channels a Parisian vibe by teaming a neutral style with dark-blue skinnies and gold hoop earrings. We can so see ourselves copying this French-girl fit for our next breakfast date with the girls – where a croissant will be consumed as we pretend we live in the city of light.

Our favourite duo has taken a page out of Bella Hadid’s book this autumn, making their knitwear of choice a 90s-inspired faux fur-trim cardigan.
