3 Ways to Wear Denim Separates

by Hannah Rose

Right now, we’re obsessed with denim. And we’re not just talking about jeans. We’re talking about shorts, dresses, shirts…pretty much anything and everything as long as it’s covered in the timeless fabric. But when they look this good, can you blame us? With new shapes, cute details and oversized fits, this season’s denim is giving us serious *love heart eyes*.

The best thing about denim though, is just how versatile it is. You can dress it up, dress it down, wear it in, wear it out but whatever you do, it always looks good. And that’s exactly why we love it. So even though it may not be the first thing that springs to mind when we say summer fashion, we’re here to prove that denim is just as good as its linen and chiffon counterparts. In fact, it may just be better…

1. Short & Sweet

Shorts aren’t just made for when the sun’s out, they’re perfect for when the sun goes in too. In fact, they make a great alternative to jeans. Think shorts and a nice top instead. How to wear them? Glam up a pair of usually-casual boyfriend shorts with a statement top, gold jewellery and super-high heels. For an effortless touch, just throw on an oversized shirt. This outfit is giving us total Gigi Hadid vibes.

2. Dress Please

Although we absolutely love our jeans, when the weather’s hot they’re not always the best option. However, a rise in temp doesn’t mean you have to ditch your denim entirely. Just trade your jeans for dreamy denim dressestext with puff sleeves and wrap fronts. They’re cool enough for warm weather but cute enough for brunches. Rectangular sunnies and a bucket hat add a practical and fashionable touch whilst chunky trainers make comfy cool.

3. A Shirt Story

Denim shirts should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobes. After all, they are the easiest route to effortless style. Double denim it by wearing them with a pair of straight legs in a matching light wash. The addition of hoop earrings, a ruched vest and chunky sandals create an outfit that’s so 90s and so cool. It’s the ‘I haven’t even tried yet look great outfit’ everyone needs. We love it.
