From her love affair with denim and her most embarrassing date story to coming full circle, we took ten minutes with Sophie to get to know her even better…

Your first job ever as an influencer was working with New Look. How does it feel to now have your very own edit?

"It feels SO amazing and like my career has come full circle in the best possible way. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and to have worked with New Look for so many years. It was the start of a new chapter last time for me, and it feels like it could be the start of a new and exciting chapter once again."

You’re full of personality and your edit reflects that. Give us three words that describe you...

"Ambitious, reliable and sassy"

Tell us a bit about your edit...what are your favourite pieces?

"The wide leg jeans are such a vibe! And the oversized denim jacket. It’s a wardrobe must-have and never goes out of style. I also adore the oversized white shirt — it’s a classic and can be worn in so many ways. It’s a true staple."

We’re loving all the denim in your New Look edit. Which piece is your personal favourite and how would you style it?

I love the wide leg jeans — please don’t make me choose between the ones without the rips and the ones with!

"Stylish, quality and timeless"

"It means making wardrobe choices based on what you think will be part of your wardrobe for a long time. Things you can wear over and over again."

Any tips for styling a wide-leg jean from day to night?

"A slinky top and good jewellery works for both. All you really need is a change of shoes! Swap out heels for trainers and you’re good to go."

Do you have any top styling tips for petite gals?

"Balance proportions! If you go for a wide leg, opt for a slim-fitting top, and vice versa. Wear heels to give yourself a boost or a chunky trainer to add length. Opt for a straight, long jean or pair of trousers to give the illusion of length. Petite girls often think that wearing something that fits long on the leg will swamp us and make us look short, but if you pick the right thing and it’s well fitted around your waist, longer items really do elongate your figure!"

Valentine’s Day is coming up. Which pieces from your edit would you style up for a date-night look?

"The denim skirt with an oversized shirt and heels. Accessories would be a little micro bag and pretty earrings!"

Spill the tea... what’s your most embarrassing date story?

"The worst was when I saved someone’s number wrong in my phone — I saved it as the wrong person. So I was texting someone all flirty and organised a date and was so confused when this other guy showed up. I hadn’t the heart to tell him so just carried on with it. So it was internally embarrassing. I was internally mortified."

You’ve got a Galentine’s date planned with the girls, what look from your edit will you be wearing?

"Wide leg jeans, a white top, oversized striped shirt, and a little bag."

You’re on a romantic dinner date... where are you and what are you ordering?

"Somewhere with a gorgeous view of London and we’re ordering sushi! That’s if I can’t be by the beach in a hot faraway location…"

You look like you’re having a blast in Bali at the moment, how does it feel to be enjoying the sunshine?

"It feels amazing. I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to travel here. The Balinese are the most wonderful and warm people and make you feel so welcome. There’s a huge creative vibe here too and everyone — expats and locals — is just so friendly. I hope to live here part time in the future!"

Any tips for styling your edit for those dreamy summer months?

"The oversized denim jacket is the perfect piece to throw over summer dresses in the evening when it gets a bit chillier. Everyone is wearing denim out in Bali at the moment — I’m specifically seeing lots of girls wearing wide leg jeans styled with crop tops — so I’d take note of that and wear the wide leg ripped jeans from my edit with a super cropped top or tucked-in tee and some chilled sandals or flip flops.

The oversized shirts will look incredible worn open over a figure skimming dress or even with a bikini at the beach (or park, if you live in London!) and denim shorts. I love how these pieces are truly transitional and will work in your wardrobe all year round!"

Has being an influencer changed your lifestyle and, if so, how?

"Definitely! There’s lots of amazing opportunities and it’s allowed me to connect with so many people. It’s given me so much freedom in terms of the way I work and creativity."

Instagram can make people’s lives seem perfect — what’s one part of your job that isn’t as perfect as it may seem on the feed?

"You naturally end up putting a lot of pressure on yourself and this can often result in lots of breakdowns and worrying I’m not good enough!"

"Basically anything Taylor Swift!"

First thing you do in the morning?

"Cuddle my dog."

"Trainers."

"Crisps all day every day!"
