Send Plastic Spinning: 4 Ways to Cut Plastic Waste

A collage of a persons hand holding a plastic bottle in the sky and a kitchen shelf of different plastic free objects

To celebrate Plastic Free July, we’re shining a light on the hard work we’ve been doing behind the scenes to reduce our plastic impact.

We’ve created a closed-loop system where our carriers, mailers and hangers are made from New Look recycled content and on top of that, we recycle around 300 tonnes of plastic per year. What’s more, we’ve introduced recycled synthetic fabrics into our clothing and have teamed up with four recycling partners to promote better care and disposal of your ‘fits. 👗

As part of our commitment to be carbon positive by 2040, we’ve reduced the thickness of our packaging and by cutting down on the amount of cardboard used for online orders, we’ve prevented 82 tonnes reaching our customers which is equivalent to the weight of six and a half London buses. 🚌

Wondering how you can do your bit? We’re challenging you to join us on our mission to fight plastic pollution with four easy ways you can make little changes that make a big difference. For Plastic Free July and forever. 🌍

1. Say No to Single-Use Plastic

Switching to reusable bottles, lunchboxes and coffee cups will save you money in the long run and limit the amount of waste littering our streets, oceans and waterways. Plus, it prevents single-use plastic from piling up in landfill.

2. Bring your Own Bag

Partial to a shopping spree? Us too. Lower your environmental impact when out and about by bringing your own carrier bag – ours are made from 80% recycled content, are fully recyclable and can be replaced for free in store if broken or damaged. 🛍️

3. Use Refill Stores

While supermarkets are notorious for their single-use plastic wrapping, refill stores eliminate this problem by offering unpackaged goods you can stock up on with reusable containers. You’ll find everything from rice and cereal to washing up liquid!

4. Dine Out

Just think how many plastic takeaway boxes are thrown away every Friday night… By choosing to eat out, you’ll save on waste and the washing up. If you need an excuse to book that fancy restaurant, this is it! 🍷
