8 Things We're Looking Forward to This Christmas Season

by Chloe Wilshere, Content Creator

And just like that… another year has almost passed. Christmas is right around the corner and we’re more excited than ever. Last year’s celebrations were snatched away from us, so this year we’re making up for lost time by getting in the festive spirit a little earlier than usual (and possibly going just a little overboard on gifting 🎁). However your Christmas looks this year, it’ll certainly be one to remember.

To get you in the mood, we’ve rounded up the eight things we’re looking forward to most this festive season.

Winter Wonderland

1. Winter Wonderland

Like everything in 2020, Winter Wonderland was put on ice last year 🧊. But the countdown is on… on the 19th of November it’s back and we couldn’t be more excited. London’s biggest festive attraction will run until 3rdof January and we can’t wait to soak up the festive spirit – as well as the ice skating, food and rides, of course.

Christmas Shopping

2. Christmas Shopping

Last year our Christmas shopping was very abruptly put on hold... So, this year, not only are we starting earlier than usual, but we’re excited for the hustle and bustle of the high street and exploring the best Christmas window displays.

And, with only three paydays left until the big day, early birds are in luck, as our Christmas gifting is ready to shop now, both online and in store 🎁.

Christmas Markets

3. Christmas Markets

If there’s one thing we missed most last year, it was the magic of Christmas markets ✨. A good festive market is at the heart of Christmas, capturing the true joy of the season. Filled with nostalgic scents, gifts and treats, it may be cold outside, but they always make us feel warm inside 🥰.

Christmas Jumper Day

4. Christmas Jumper Day

Gone are the days of showing off our Christmas jumpers over Zoom – this year we get to show them off in real life! Whether your festive-jumper style is nostalgic, glam or comedy, we’ve got options for every taste. Christmas Jumper Day falls on Friday 10th of December, but we’ll be reviving our festive spirit and wearing ours for the whole season.

Christmas Parties

5. Christmas Parties

We never thought we’d say it… but Christmas parties, we’ve missed you! 🥂 (though not the sore head the next day!).

After not letting our hair down with colleagues for such a long time, not to mention the new starters we’ve still not seen face-to-face, it’s safe to say all Christmas parties this year are going to be ones to remember (even with a hangover).

Christmas Dinner

6. Family Gatherings

Though there are many things we missed out on last Christmas, not being able to spend time with family was the hardest. So, this year we’re revelling in the little moments we once took for granted, with terrible cracker jokes, board games aplenty and Wham! on repeat.

Christmas Light Displays

7. Christmas Light Displays

Nothing gets us in the spirit quite like a good light display. Whether you live in a small town or big city, it’s not Christmas without a light switch on. All we can say is… this year, we hope they’re bigger and better than ever before 💁‍♀️✨.

Mulled Wine

8. Mulled Wine

Mulled wine may not exactly have been taken away from us last year… but its true meaning was. Our drink of choice for every festive event, it just wasn’t the same sipping it at home. So, this year we’re excited for mulled wine to bring back that warm and fuzzy feeling we’ve all been missing ✨.
