4 Stylish Ways to Get the Most Out of Your 2022 Bank Holidays

by Camilla Harrison

A long weekend, an extra lie-in and another excuse to update your wardrobe; just a few of the reasons why we’re big fans of a bank holiday. 😎

And after two years of not-quite normality, we’re here for making the most of the each and every one of the nine that are dotted throughout 2022.

Whether you’re planning a staycay, heading out to a street party or getting your festival on, our #NewLookers are here serving up looks that have every bank hol plan covered

Scroll on for serious outfit inspo and get pencilling those all-important dates in your diary…

1. Girls Just Wanna Have Sun ☀️ - Friday 15th - Monday 18th April

Okay, so we can’t guarantee back-to-back sunshine, but if past Easter bank holidays are anything to go by, we could be in store for warmer weather🤞. Heading for a picnic in the park or BBQ at your besties? This mini skirt looks just as good with the matching bikini, as it does with a crop top. If you’re lucky enough to be spending the long weekend poolside, reach for a classic LBB (little black bikini) and add colourful accessories to make it pop. 🌈

2. Staycays Are The New Vacays 🧳 - Monday 2nd May

If the past couple of years have taught us anything, it’s that staycations are massively underrated and deserve more love. Whether you’re escaping to the coast or glamping in the countryside, these denim mom shorts are a must — they’ve got Emily Atack’s seal of approval, after all. 😉 Style them with high-tops for a look that delivers on comfort and style. Oh, and maybe pack a knit and a brolly, because we can never fully trust the British weather. ☔

3. A Very British Garden Party 👑 - Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd June

We’ve got Her Majesty to thank for this year’s bonus bank hol, so it’s Happy Platinum Jubilee to Liz and happy four-day weekend to us. 🙌 We’re expecting garden gatherings, street parties and BBQs galore, so it makes sense to mark the occasion in style with a showstopper of a dress. This green mini is giving us all the summer feels and the blooming print works a treat for family get-togethers before hopping off for a drink with the girls *clink* 🥂

4. A Weekend Full Of Festivals 🎵 - August 29th

Whether you’re headed to Creamfields, SW4 or Notting Hill Carnival, we predict this year’s go-to festival looks are going to be all about the ‘90s. We’re talking rimless tinted sunnies, retro flares and trending cut-out tops. ☮️ We’re loving this gingham bucket hat from Emily Atack’s edit, which will protect you from the sun’s rays and still have you looking festival ready. Add a colour-pop bikini top and denim cut-offs and you’ve got yourself the perfect outfit for dancing in a field surrounded by your girl gang. 🕺
