What a year it’s been! Although things haven’t returned to normal just yet, 2021 gave us a lot to look back on, including the highly anticipated Friends reunion, the shocking end of Kimye and the phenomenon that is Squid Game.

Feel like time has begun to smush together lately and can’t remember what happened when? We’re with you. That’s why we’ve rounded up of 12 of the most unforgettable moments from the last 12 months. So sit back, relax, and join us on a trip down memory lane…

1. Harry and Meghan's Tell-All Oprah Interview

One of the year’s most-watched TV moments, Harry and Meghan sent shockwaves through the Royal Family with their tea-spilling Oprah interview. Packed full of bombshell revelations from Meghan’s mental health struggles to allegations of racism within the family, this was the year’s ultimate popcorn moment 🍿.

2. Bernie Sanders' Iconic Mittens

The image that spawned a thousand memes. When Vermont senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders bundled up against the cold during Joe Biden’s inauguration wearing an eye-catching pair of Fair-Isle mittens, demand for the toasty accessory went through the roof and the internet had a field day 🧶.

3. JLo and Ben Affleck Re-Kindled their Romance

18 years after calling off their engagement, Bennifer was back with a bang! With two marriages, five kids and an engagement in the intervening years, the ultimate noughties power-couple reunited, packing on the PDA, hitting up premieres and even taking romantic mini-breaks. Will they make it down the aisle this time? We’ll be rooting for them! ❤️

4. We Said Goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians after 20 Seasons

Whether you loved it or loathed it, there’s no denying KUWTK changed pop culture forever. Kris, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie finally called time on the iconic reality show that catapulted the family to mega-stardom. With Kim and Kylie now certified billionaires, it’s safe to say this isn’t the last we’ve seen of the Kardashian-Jenner crew and their memes will live on forever.

5. We Launched our #NewLookers Near You

Back in June, we launched #NewLookers Near You. Our very own team from across our stores and distribution centres, they’re responsible for bringing you all things New Look in your local area — from styling tips to outfit inspo, exciting updates and more. Expect to see a lot more of them in the new year and don’t forget to give them a follow on the ‘gram 📸.

6. The Met Gala and in-person red carpets were back

After 2020 was deprived of events and dressing up, the Met Gala finally returned in September and it didn’t disappoint. Fashion’s biggest night out served an eclectic range of looks with the theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”, leading many stars to look back to Hollywood’s golden age for inspo. Supermodel Iman slayed in Dolce & Gabbana x Harris Reed while Billie Eilish in Oscar De La Renta had us swooning 😍.

7. Britney is FREE!

In November, almost 14 years after being forced into a conservatorship, a judge finally released our beloved Britney from a tyrannical institution that prevented her having any say over the most basic parts of her life. From money to medical care, Britney is FINALLY free to live her life as she sees fit. We have a feeling that 2022 is going to be her best year yet! (hands in the air emoji)

8. We Launched Our Ultimate Girl Gang

In September, we introduced you to Anne-Marie, Emily Atack, Lauren Nicole, Mahalia and our very own #NewLooker Laura Kennedy, aka, our ultimate girl gang. You loved their hand-picked edits and their unique styles. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting moments from our girl squad in 2022 👯‍♀️.

9. Adele Finally Released Her New Album

After teasing us with those ‘30’ billboards, Adele finally answered our prayers with her first new music in six years. The fastest selling album of the year, the lead single Easy On Me broke Spotify’s record for single streams on its release day, while the music video racked up over 15 million views in its first eight hours. With a sell-out residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas starting in January, it’s safe to say the girl from Tottenham has done it again 👏.

10. Anne-Marie Launched her Exclusive Collection with Us

We launched one of the most hotly anticipated collabs of all time, Anne-Marie x New Look. Created hand in hand with our design team, the pop superstar brought you an exclusive collection of must-have pieces, including that sell-out OMG faux fur-trimmed pink coat. 11. Paris Hilton got Married!

They were the nuptials we’ve all been waiting for and they certainly lived up to the hype. When Paris Hilton and Carter Reum tied the knot, we knew we were in for a lavish affair. Multiple outfit changes, dogs in suits and a three-day extravaganza, including an actual carnival at LA’s Santa Monica pier, made this a wedding for the ages 👰‍♀️.

12. Our Screens were FINALLY Blessed with the Sex and the City Reboot

And Just Like That, it finally happened. After 17 long years, the Sex and City reboot finally arrived. Kicking off with a shocking death, we can’t wait to see what life has in store for Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda. Although we’re seriously missing Samantha, there’s enough to love to keep us tuning in each week 📺.
