New Look x Who What Wear: 5 luxe-for-less autumn/winter outfits

Don’t know where to start with updating your wardrobe for autumn/winter? You’re in the right place.

We’ve teamed up with digital fashion publication Who What Wear to bring you five fail-safe new-season outfits. And not only are they easy on your purse, but they offer that quiet luxury feel that’s HUGE right now.

“Even as an experienced fashion editor, the seasonal switch-up can be daunting,” shares Who What Wear’s Fashion Editor Florrie Alexander. “So, I like to formulate blueprints of reliable, ever-chic outfits that can be called up at a moment's notice for whatever the day entails.”

As seen on Who What Wear’s Content Creator Remi Afolabi, discover Florrie’s go-to formulas you’ll “rely on from now until springtime”. Think hard-working, timeless styles (like long tailored coats, heeled ankle boots and satin midi skirts), taken from our new-in page…

1. MONOCHROME mood.

If you’re after an easy way to look put-together “a full colour-block look is the way to go”. “And no shade is quite as chic as black,” tells Florrie. To re-create this winning ensemble, team our knitted midi dress with matching knee-high boots, a trending leather-look blazer and finish with a smart cross-body bag.

2. A moment for the SKIRT.

“The best additions to your wardrobe are the truly versatile ones,” explains Florrie. “Take the slip skirt; it served us through summer with a simple tank top and flat sandals, and for autumn, you can layer it up with a classic black blazer.” Amp up the luxe feel with our new gold colourway – at just £30, you’ll want to shop it fast…

3. Fix up, look SMART-CASJ.

“Ask any fashion person and they'll tell you a classic suit is a modern staple. From the office to coffee dates, this sleek two-piece will step up to all occasions with the right styling.” For a relaxed, quiet-luxury approach, pare back with a staple white tee, chunky trainers and a bag.

4. The LAID-BACK approach.

“Is there anything more symbolic of autumn than a trench coat?” Florrie asks. Whether running errands or grabbing coffee, layer over a tracksuit for a cool, off-duty look. “Faux-fur lined boots are the ultimate finishing touch,” she adds. “This chunky iteration *really* caught my eye.”

5. Jeans and a nice COAT.

An everyday formula that never fails, Remi wears our dark grey longline coat with a cosy knit, jeans and chunky boots. Talking about the classic, cool layer, Florrie claims it could “easily pass” as “worth triple the price” – your sign to snap it up ASAP!
