With the new season comes a whole lot of newness – we’re talking new coffee orders, new weather forecasts and of course, new trends.
And seeing as we spent the majority of last winter bundled up in our loungewear, we’re more excited than ever to update our wardrobes properly this year and get dressed up in new trending ‘fits.
With frosty mornings and party season on the horizon, we’ve rounded up the eight winter trends we can’t wait to wear so you can start building that new season wishlist nice and early…
Ever since the first series of Emily in Paris dropped on Netflix, we’ve been ✨obsessed✨ with cute co-ords. And with the second season airing just before Christmas, we’ll be paying homage to the show and dressing up in Parisian-inspired two-pieces in the months ahead.
From chic bouclé textures and classic checks to gold button details, these trending sets are everywhere RN and are super versatile, too. We suggest mixing and matching the jackets and skirts with other separates, so you have plenty of looks to play with all season long.
We’ve been hibernating in utter comfort for the best part of the last 18 months, so it makes sense that the outerwear we’re leaning towards this winter resembles a quilted duvet.
Popular with the Scandi street style set, you’ll be seeing quilted details on everything from coats and jackets to accessories and boots this season. We love how the diamond-shaped quilting incorporates a double whammy of cushiony texture and warmth into your outfit.
Shackets have been plastered all over our social feeds for a few years now. A cross between a shirt and a jacket, they’re a real wardrobe hero given how easily they can trade places with your coat or build up your look with an extra layer of warmth.
This winter, they’re updated in a variety of lengths, fabrics and prints, so there’s a kind to suit every style. From cosy teddy textures to snuggle up in to checked styles loved by Emily Atack, we advise having a couple on rotation to see you through the chillier months.
Come winter, we spend most of our days wrapped up in outerwear, so it makes sense to opt for a coat that’s as classic and cosy as a puffer. Puffers are perfect for braving the elements in, whether you’ve got after-dark cocktails with the girls or a crisp countryside walk on the agenda.
Versatile enough to be dressed up or down, this season we’re seeking out short, boxy silhouettes to layer over tonal looks and puffed-up gilets. Staying warm has never looked so cool.
After spending the best part of a year and a half cosied up inside with blankets and dressing gowns at our disposal, we’re totally not mad about cosy textures trending this winter. 🧸
Seen on runways around the world and loved by the street style set, plush teddy and fluffy fleece fabrics are here to stay through the chillier months. Layer them into your look with shackets and longline coats, or work low-key hints of them into your wardrobe with gilets and faux-fur bucket hats.
Colours…it’s been a while. And this winter, they’re back in an electrifying way. ⚡️
This season be seen in the latest statement hues – we’re talking piercing pinks, glam greens, radiant reds, and the brightest of blues. Whether you go head-to-tonal for the upcoming party season or add statement pops to neutral looks, if there’s electric tones somewhere in your outfit, you’re doing it right.
The iconic trend from the ‘70s back… yes of course we’re talking about flares 🕺.
And this winter, there’s so many ways to wear them. Whether you mirror Megan Fox’s style and dress up a trending split-cuff pair with a tailored blazer, or dress a jersey pair down with an oversized hoodie and chunky trainers, the best thing about this flattering trouser shape is its versatility.
Adding a printed pair to basket? They’ll be easy to incorporate into your festival outfits next year, too. 🎪
Knitted vests started doing the rounds last winter but they are everywhere RN. So, it makes sense that we’re championing them as one of our hero pieces of the season.
Perfect for styling solo, over another knit or layered on top of an oversized shirt, this trend is giving us all of the throwback feels. Look out for them in oversized proportions and splashed with bold patterns.
