5 Outfit Ideas For Your New Going Out Plans

by Chloe Wilshere, Content Creator

Now that we're finally allowed out, it's time to start thinking about what to wear for our new normal way of socialising. If, like us, you’ve been living in joggers and oversized sweatshirts for the past four months, you may feel like you’ve forgotten how to dress up. But with our diaries starting to fill up again, we’re all in need of some going out outfit inspiration, whatever your plans may be. From BBQ’s to heading out for that long-awaited meal out or even just a picnic in the park, 2020 is the year of finding your new ‘out out’ - and knowing what to wear for it. So we’ve put together some outfits you’re sure to love, no matter where you're headed.

1.For Mingling at BBQ’s

You'll want to be dressed to impress for those long-awaited social gatherings around some good BBQ food. So if you’re looking for going out dress ideas that are suitable for a BBQ with friends, then you can’t go wrong with this white polka dot midi dress. Perfect for summer BBQs spent catching up with friends and family, it’s sure to get a lot of love. Dress it up with some wedge heels and accessorise with cat eye sunglasses and a white gold chain bag.

2.That Long Awaited Trip to The Pub Garden

Lets be honest, with warm summer days upon us we’ve all been eager to get back to the pub garden and start socialising with friends over an Aperol Spritz again. Now that those days are finally upon us, you'll be wanting the perfect going out outfit to do it in. This pink spotted ruched top is perfect, not only does it look great, but its longer sleeves also provide you with a bit of warmth for chilly evenings. Pair it with mom jeans and, dependent on the style of pub you’re off to, throw on some nude heels or a pair of flat sandals.

3.The Year of the Picnic

Who would have thought that 2020 would become the year of the park picnic. We can’t say we're unhappy about it though, as right now we’re living for picnics. But, unlike in previous years, we now want to dress up for our picnics. The key to picnic dressing is comfort (and something you can sit down in easily) so this brown striped jumpsuit is the perfect option for lounging around on a rug and nibbling snacks. Protect your face from the sun with an oversized straw hat and chuck on some easy throw-on-and-go sandals to complete the look.

4. The Girls' Brunch

We’re so eager for the return of the girls' weekend brunch. How we've missed a gossip over eggs and prosecco. At the moment, the only thing stopping us from getting a good brunch in the diary is knowing what to wear to one. Having been confined to our joggers for months on end, the task now is to find something else that we feel as comfortable in and that's suitable for a day out.  Never fear, as the answer lies in a pair of balloon leg jeans. The balloon jean's bagginess resembles joggers, providing comfort with an elevated look - they're also great for dressing up. Pair with our blue floral tie neck crop top, a pouch bag and some black strappy heels and you’re ready to enjoy that first girly brunch in months.

5. A Fancy Dinner Date

The dinner date… oh how we’ve missed you. Whether you’re going on a fancy dinner date with your long-time love or meeting someone new, you certainly want to be dressed for the occasion. If you’re feeling a little uninspired having not dressed up for so long, then look no further than this satin slip dress. It is perfect for that long-awaited dinner date out, and the ruched front makes for a flattering fit on every body shape. Dress it up with a black clutch bag, some statement earrings and some square-toed heels.
